MAC Certification is awarded to source collection areas, collectors, producers, exporters, importers, and retailers. To achieve certification, organisms must be selected, caught or produced, handled, held, transported, and sold according to internationally-accepted standards that require proper treatment of coral reef ecosystems, care for fish populations, and accurate traceability records.
